Terms of Service
Last updated: April 22, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Heapr. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We've tried to write them in plain English so the important bits aren't buried.
1. Who this agreement is with
“Heapr,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Renu Design Inc., a corporation incorporated in the Province of Ontario, Canada, which operates the Heapr mobile app and website. “You” refers to anyone who creates an account, joins the waitlist, or otherwise uses the service.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old to create a Heapr account.
- You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement in your country of residence. If the age of majority in your jurisdiction is higher than 16 and you are below it, you may not use Heapr.
- You must provide accurate information about yourself when you sign up.
By tapping “Sign Up” in the app, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.
3. Early access & approval
Heapr is invite-only during early access. After you sign up and verify your email, your account waits in a pending state until an administrator approves it. We may approve, delay, or decline any account at our discretion. We may also revoke approval later if your use of Heapr violates these terms.
Being on the waitlist does not guarantee that you'll be approved, or that you'll be approved within any specific timeframe.
4. Your account
- Honesty. Provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it current.
- Security. You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Don't share it. Tell us at hello@heapr.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One person per account. Accounts are for individual use, not shared household or commercial logins.
5. Your content, your rights
The items, descriptions, and photos you add to Heapr belong to you. Full stop. We don't claim ownership of anything you upload.
To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and transmit your content only for the purposes of running Heapr for you — for example, showing your inventory back to you on your device, or delivering a photo to someone you explicitly share an item with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
6. Sharing with other users
Heapr may let you share specific items with specific people you invite. When you do:
- You choose what to share, item by item. There is no public inventory.
- Recipients see only what you have explicitly shared.
- You are responsible for what you share and with whom. Don't share content you don't have the right to share.
- You can revoke access at any time.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, sexually explicit involving minors, or violates someone else's rights.
- Use Heapr to harass, threaten, or defraud anyone.
- Attempt to break into, scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service or other users' accounts.
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Use Heapr to run a business or commercial inventory at a scale that materially burdens the service, without first talking to us.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules. In serious cases (illegal content, for example) we may act without prior notice and cooperate with law enforcement as required.
8. Privacy
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms by reference. The short version: we store what you add, we don't sell or share it with advertisers, and photo ML inference runs on your device.
9. Service availability
We work to keep Heapr running reliably, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or incidents — ours or our infrastructure providers'.
We may add, remove, or change features over time. When a change would materially affect you, we'll aim to give advance notice.
10. Third-party services
Heapr relies on infrastructure providers like Supabase, Apple, Google, and Cloudflare. Your use of the app is also subject to the relevant platform's rules (for example, the Apple Media Services Terms or the Google Play Terms of Service). We're not responsible for third-party services, but we choose them carefully.
11. Termination
- By you. You can stop using Heapr any time. To delete your account and all of your data, open the app and go to Profile → Delete Account. If you can't access the app, you can instead email hello@heapr.app and we'll complete deletion within 30 days.
- By us. We may suspend or terminate your account for a material breach of these terms, for abusive behavior, or if keeping the account open creates legal or security risk. We'll give notice where reasonably possible.
- Effect of termination. Your right to use the service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law) will continue to apply.
12. Disclaimers
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heapr and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or revenue — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Heapr will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CA$100).
Some jurisdictions don't allow limitations like these; in those places, the limits apply only to the extent the law permits.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Heapr and its operators against any third-party claim arising out of (a) content you upload or share, (b) your misuse of the service, or (c) your violation of these terms or any law.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Heapr evolves. When we make material changes, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify signed-in users by email or in-app notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the service and, if you wish, delete your account.
16. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles or the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Heapr will be brought exclusively in the courts of the Province of Ontario located in Toronto, and you and we consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights that consumer or privacy legislation in your province or country may give you. In particular, if you reside in Quebec, the consumer-protection provisions of the Quebec Consumer Protection Act and Quebec Law 25 apply to you regardless of the choice of forum above, and any provision of these terms that conflicts with your non-waivable rights under Quebec law will be read down to the extent necessary to comply.
17. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us about Heapr, and replace any prior version.
- Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right one time, we don't give up the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You can't transfer your account or rights under these terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations (for example, if Heapr is acquired).
